
Paul Neubauer - Viola
Paul Neubauer’s musical endeavors are consistently creative this season with performances as soloist in the world premiere of Rinehold Glière’s “Two Concert Pieces for Viola and String Orchestra” with the Camerata Ireland, the North American premiere with Amici New York, and the New York premiere of Joan Tower’s “Purple Rhapsody” with the Orchestra of the League of Composers. He appears as a recitalist in such venues as the National Gallery, as a chamber musician in the U.S. and Europe with the Emerson Quartet, as collaborator with violinist Mark O’Connor, as well as in performance with the Iranian tenor Shahram Nazeri at Carnegie Hall. Balancing a solo career with performances as an Artist of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Mr. Neubauer at age 21 was the youngest principal string player in the New York Philharmonic's history. He is the Orchestra and Chamber Music Director of the OK Mozart Festival. He has appeared with over 100 orchestras throughout the USA, Europe, and Asia, including the New York, Los Angeles, Helsinki and Royal Liverpool Philharmonics, National, St. Louis, Detroit, Dallas, San Francisco and Bournemouth Symphonies, Santa Cecilia and English Chamber and Beethovenhalle Orchestras. He has been featured on CBS's Sunday Morning and on Public Radio's Performance Today, Morning Edition, St. Paul Sunday and A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor. He teaches at The Juilliard School
